Leroy O. Lorah

Leroy O. Lorah, 78, of New Ringgold, died Tuesday in the Reading Hospital. He was the husband of Shirley (Steigerwalt) Lorah. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on November 11th. Leroy was a chemical salesman for over 45 years. Born in Hazleton, he was the son of the late Leroy G. and Esther (Oberman) Lorah. He was a member of Zion’s Stone Church of West Penn Township and a member of the F&AM Masonic Lodge #621 Lehighton. Leroy enjoyed his new electronics, music and playing guitar in a band. He truly loved spending time with his grandchildren, and could always make friends with anyone. Leroy was known for sharing stories of imaginary friends with his children and grandchildren. Surviving in addition to his wife, are a son, Jeffrey and his wife Aileen, Blakeslee; and a daughter Kimberly, wife of James Ayrton, Blandon; six grandchildren, Bradley, Brett, Dennis, Shawn, Sophia and Joseph, and a great grandson, Ethan. A memorial service will be held at 11am on Friday, December 1, at Zion’s Stone Church, 45 Cemetery Rd., New Ringgold, with the Rev. Russell Campbell officiating. Friends may call on Friday from 10-11am. Interment will be private and in the church cemetery. Contributions may be made in his name to the church.
