Andrzej Szymczyk

Andrzej Szymczyk, 73, of New Ringgold, Pennsylvania, passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2024, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Carbon Campus. He was the husband of Grazyna “Grace” (Przezdziecka) Szymczyk. They were married on July 1, 1971, and celebrated 52 years of marriage. He graduated with a degree in building engineering from Polytechnika Krakowska University in Krakow, Poland. Prior to retiring, he worked as a building engineer, inspector, and in home construction. Born in Tarnow, Poland, he also lived in Italy and since 1985 in the United States, where he spent time in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. An avid reader, Andrzej enjoyed history books and novels by prominent Polish authors. He loved sailing and skiing with his kids and grandkids. He was the son of the late Stanislaw and Helena (Kordek) Szymczyk. He was also preceded in death by a son Slawomir and his sister Elzbieta Sumara. Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Przemyslaw "Andy", and his wife Lisa, of Mohrsville, Pennsylvania; sister Jolanta Labno, of Tarnow, Poland; two grandchildren, Alexis and Ryan, and his family and friends in Poland and the United States.
