Daniel R. Miller

Daniel R. Miller, 76, of Andreas, died Saturday, June 3, 2017, in The Middletown Home.  Born in Clamtown, he was the son of the late William F. Sr. and Irma (Bensinger) Miller. His caregivers were Nancy Ketchledge of Andreas and brother Paul and his wife Helen Miller of Tamaqua. Prior to retiring, Dan was employed as a truck driver for various companies, most recent was Bryan Miller Trucking, Inc., Andreas and Tamaqua Transfer and Recycling. He was a member of Zion’s Stone Church of West Penn Township. Dan served in the Army from July 1958 to September 1963. He was a member of Andreas Sporting Club, West Penn Rod and Gun Club and the Independent Order of Odd Fellows Lodge #802. He liked hunting, fishing and occasionally going to the casinos. He is survived by two sons, Brandon and his companion Brandie of Andreas, and Daniel D. of Lehighton; a daughter, Charlotte of Tamaqua; four brothers, Bert and his wife Marie of South Tamaqua, Gary of Clamtown, William “Billy” Jr. and his wife Connie of Andreas and Paul and his wife Helen of Tamaqua; lifelong friend and companion, Nancy Ketchledge of Andreas; four grandsons, Chase, Austin, Tyler and Daniel D. Jr., nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother Terry. Services will be held at 11am on Thursday, June 8, at the Hartman Funeral Home, 1791 West Penn Pike, Rte. 309, New Ringgold, with the Rev. Ken Melber officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 9:30-11am. I.O.O.F Lodge #802 funeral ceremony at 10:30am.
