Darlene J. Hartman, 76, of Franklin Township, died Wednesday, September 19, 2018. She was the wife of the late Bruce A. Hartman, Sr. Prior to retiring, she was employed as a rural mail carrier for 22 years in the Lehighton Post Office. Born in Bethlehem, she was the daughter of the late Cedric V. and Millicent (Black) Haupt. Darlene was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Mahoning. She was a life member of the Beaver Run Rod and Gun Club, Lehighton, and a member of the Packerton Old Timers Club. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She attended all her children’s sporting events throughout the years and supported their professional endeavors. She was a pleasure to be around and was known for her quick wit and sense of humor. Surviving are two sons, Dr. Bruce A. Hartman Jr., and his companion Patty Kripper, of Lehighton, and Troy and his wife Melissa of Andreas; a daughter Dedria, of New Ringgold and a grandson TJ. Services will be held at 11am on Saturday. September 22, 2018, at the Hartman Funeral Home, 1791 West Penn Pike, Rte. 309, New Ringgold, with Rev. Russell Campbell officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 10-11am. Interment in St. John’s Church Cemetery. At Darlene’s request, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
