Luther E. Exner, 62, of Lehighton, died Sunday, June 17, 2018, in St. Luke’s Hospital, Lehighton. He was the husband of Beverly (Lutz) Exner. They celebrated 39 years of marriage on March 31. He was last employed as a forklift operator for Remmey Pallet Co, Lehighton, for 35 years, and previously for the Lehighton Ambulance. Born in Lehighton, he was the son of the late Luther and Anna (Miller) Exner. Luther was a member of St. Peter’s Union Church, Mantzville, where he previously served on the church board and the senior choir. He was a life member of the Lehigh Fire Co #1, Lehighton, where he enjoyed playing Santa Claus. Luther enjoyed watching the Phillies, Nascar and drag racing and enjoyed model trains. He was preceded in death by a sister, Catherine. Surviving in addition to his wife, are a son Alan, at home; four brothers, Ronald and his wife Rena, Lehighton, Lewis and his wife Evelyn, Andreas, William and his wife Kathleen, Spokane, WA. and Robert and his wife Diane, Lehighton; a sister Sara Flyzik, Lehighton; nieces and nephews. Memorial service will be held at 11am on Thursday, June 21, 2018, at St. Peter’s Church, 184 St Peters Rd, Tamaqua, with the Rev. Ken Melber officiating. Friends may call from 10:30-11am.
