Margaret I. “Margie” Miller, 66, of Tamaqua, died Sunday, September 10, 2017, in St. Luke’s Hospital, Bethlehem. She was the wife of Ronald P. Miller. They celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary on August 12. Prior to retiring, she worked in the cafeteria for the Tamaqua School District for 20 years. Born in Coaldale, she was the daughter of the late Zachary M. and Irene E. (Ahner) Mertz. She was of the Protestant faith. Margie enjoyed spending time with the Seniors at Rush Township, crafts, sewing, cooking and baking. She loved her family and cherished their time together. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Marvin and Arthur, a sister Eva Brobst, two step brothers, Bruce Mertz and Percy Mertz Jr. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Barry and his wife Darlene, Lehighton; a daughter, Tracy, Tamaqua; two sisters, Myrtle Kunkle, NE, and Florence Duffy, Mahoning Township; nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 11am on Friday, September 15, 2017, at the Hartman Funeral Home, 1791 West Penn Pike, Rte. 309, New Ringgold, with The Rev. Dr. Allison R. DeForest officiating. Friends may call on Friday from 10 to 11am. Interment will be in Sky-View Memorial Park, Hometown.
