Oliver E. Coombe

Oliver E. Coombe, 87, of West Penn Township, died Friday, June 22, 2018, at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, Gerald and Valerie of New Ringgold. He was the husband of Edith (Stetler) Coombe. They celebrated 60 years of marriage on April 5.  Oliver was a lifelong farmer and previously worked at Blue Ridge Pressure Casting, Lehighton. Born in West Penn Township, he was the son of the late Russell and Cora (Miller) Coombe. He was a member of St. Peter’s Union Church, Mantzville. He was passionate about farming and spending time with his grandchildren, where he took pride in driving them to pre-school. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Daniel. Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons, Carvin and his wife Sheila, New Ringgold, Dale and his wife Lisa, Summit Hill, and Gerald and his wife Valerie, New Ringgold; a daughter, Dorothy, wife of David Pollock, Lehighton; a brother, Harold, Lehighton; 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 11am on Thursday, June 28, 2018, at the Hartman Funeral Home, 1791 West Penn Pike, Rte. 309, New Ringgold with Rev. Russell Campbell officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 27, 2018, from 6-8pm, and on Thursday, from 10-11am. Interment will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
