Paul E. Snyder

Paul E. Snyder, 91, of Lehighton, died Saturday, January 6, 2018, in St. Luke’s Hospice, Bethlehem. He was the husband of the late Miriam (Fritz) Snyder. Prior to retiring, he worked as an equipment operator for Henkels and McCoy and various other construction companies. Born in Ashfield, he was the son of the late Harvey and Gertrude (Breiner) Snyder. He was a member of St. Peter’s Union Church, Mantzville. He was an Army veteran of World War II, having served in Japan and the Philippine Islands. Paul enjoyed tending to his rose garden, hunting and snowmobiling and was a member of the Potter County Snowmobiling, Lizard Creek Hunting, East Penn Sporting, and Andreas Sporting Clubs. He was preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy and Albert DeWolf, son-in-law, Carl Goetter, two brothers, Earl and Leon “Hesses” Snyder. Surviving are a son, Barry and his wife Betty, Lehighton; daughter, Helen Goetter, Tamaqua; brother, Herman and his wife Sylvia, Lehighton; 9 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 11am Saturday, January 13, 2018, at the Hartman Funeral Home with Rev. Kenneth L. Buckwalter officiating. Friends may call on Saturday from 10-11am. Interment will be in the church cemetery with military honors administered by the Lehighton UVO.
