Robert C. Dunn

Robert C. Dunn, 77, of New Ringgold, died Wednesday, October 10, 2018, in the Hospice Unit of the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was the husband of Andrea (Rhubright) Dunn. They were married 57 years on January 21, 2018. He was a lifelong farmer and businessman, with a work ethic like no other. One of the happiest days of his life was May 10, 1954. At the age of 12, he and his family moved to the family farm. He was a 2nd generation farmer and to this day, the 3rd and 4th generation continue to farm. He owned and operated the Village Center Mall, Andreas and since 1982, the Hometown Farmers Market. Born in Lewistown Valley, he was the son of the late Robert G. and Helen M. (Leiby) Dunn. Robert was a member of Zion Church Lewistown Valley. He was a life member of the New Ringgold Fire Co., a member of Gideons International, the Independent Order of Odd Fellows Lodge #802, a board member for the Salvation Army and a former Deacon and Elder at Christ Church, McKeansburg. His priority was his family. He was also known for the love and generosity he showed towards others. He was an avid hunter and loved working at home, driving his tractors and equipment, going to sales and buying, collecting and showing his antiques. He and his wife traveled the entire country and parts of Canada on their motorcycle making memories and friends along the way. He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Jr. and a grandson, Robert P. “Bobby”. Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, James D. and his wife Tammie, of New Ringgold and Steven C. and his wife Valarie, of New Tripoli; a daughter, Susan, wife of Ned Biege, of New Ringgold; three sisters, Ruth, wife of Charles Gerber, of Lewistown Valley, Barbara, wife of Paul Breiner, of Andreas, and Jean, wife of Bruce Bachert, of New Ringgold; nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 11 am on Monday, October 15, 2018, at the Hartman Funeral Home, 1791 West Penn Pike, Rte. 309, New Ringgold, with Rev. Jim Williams officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, October 14, 2018, from 5-8pm and on Monday from 10-11am. Interment will be in Frieden’s Church Cemetery, New Ringgold.
