Daniel A. Newhard

Daniel A. Newhard, 70, of Andreas, passed away on Tuesday April 13, 2021 in St. Luke’s Hospital, Lehighton. He was the husband of Lynne A. Blymire. They were married on September 16, 2006 and celebrated 14 years of marriage. Prior to retiring, he was an electrician with the IBEW Local 375 for 42 years. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late William and Anna (Nesfeder) Newhard. He was a member of Good Shepherd UCC, Slatington, and he was also a member of the Sportsman’s Rod and Gun Club, Andreas, and the Ontelaunee Rod and Gun Club, New Tripoli. Daniel was an avid hunter and fisherman and previously served as an archery hunting guide in Colorado. He was a loving father, grandfather, and husband and he made life so rich and full. He was fond of his horses and his dogs. He was an intelligent, proud, and strong man. Dan was a 1968 state wrestling champion for Dieruff High School and went on to wrestle for Penn State. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Theresa (Gilly). Surviving in addition to his wife, are a son, Daniel S., and his wife Gwenn, of Slatington; a daughter, Stephanie Newhard-Giberson, of Coopersburg; two stepsons, William and Dr. Brendan Blymire; two stepdaughters, Susan and Anndrea Blymire; brother, William, and his wife Clana, of Emmaus; two sisters, Catherine, wife of Matthew Rompilla, of Riegelsville, and Janet, wife of Tom Mancini, of Leesburg, VA; nine grandchildren, Carter and Lyla Giberson, Keyla Saze-Babb, Aiden Lederer, Jesse Schliesman, Ella and Eve Blymire, Davey Blymire and Peyton Hammond; nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 5-7pm on Monday, April 19, at the Hartman Funeral Home, Route 309, New Ringgold. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
