Jeffrey A. Eckhart, 66, of Lehighton, passed away peacefully in his residence on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, with his daughter by his side. Born in Palmerton, on August 16, 1956, he was the son of the late Wescoe C. and Pauline E. (Meckes) Eckhart of Walnutport. He was employed by the former Paris Accessories, Walnutport, for 37 years. Jeff had a passion for woodworking and spending time with his daughter and his grandchildren. In his younger years he was part of a league where he became very good at shooting pool. He enjoyed and attended many horseshoe tournaments, fishing, playing darts and hanging out with his family and friends. He always loved to play cards, watch movies and ride around on his golf cart with his grandchildren. He was a Steelers fan and enjoyed a good game of football. When he wasn't busy, he liked to kick back and relax and watch a good show. It was always a pleasure to be around Jeff because he always knew how to make you laugh. He will be deeply missed by his friends and family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Colton Ray Waibel. Surviving are a daughter, Melissa, wife of Ryan Waibel, of Lehighton; two grandchildren, Peyton and Kaylin Waibel; four sisters, Gail Smith, Brenda, wife of Clayton Fronheiser, Ruby Berger, all of Palmerton, and Rita Snyder, of Walnutport; stepmother, Delores Eckhart, of Walnutport; two stepbrothers; two stepsisters; and nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 3pm on Friday, September 30, at the Hartman Funeral Home, with Chaplin Jennika Borger officiating. Call 2-3pm.
