Mathias R. Brickler, Sr., 91, of Greenwood, FL, passed away on February 15, 2021, in Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of the late Reeta Yeanish of Slatington, PA. They were married in 1952 and celebrated 25 years of marriage. Matt “Mutts” was born on January 17, 1930 in Danielsville, PA. He was the son of the late Alouysis and Rose (Tietz) Brickler. As a carpenter by trade, he specialized in kitchens and built two homes for his family. He served for a short time in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was a past commander of American Legion Post 899, Walnutport, PA and headed the legion baseball program, managing teams to league playoffs and state runner-up championships. His love for baseball was evident rooting for the New York Yankees. He was an avid hunter, enjoying time in the Potter County Mountains of PA and Florida. He also enjoyed fishing, spending time on the lakes of Pennsylvania, Ontario, Canada, and Florida. He is survived by his children, Mathias Brickler Jr., husband of Susan, of Andreas, PA, Laurie Bianco, wife of Michael, of Richlandtown, PA and Rosina Liggitt, wife of Larry, of Summit Hill, PA. He also had four grandchildren, making numerous trips over the years from Florida to visit, and four great grandchildren. His companion at the time of his passing was Valerie Marlow of Greenwood, FL.
