Obituary

Richard B. Prentiss, 89, of New Ringgold, PA, formerly of Union Beach, NJ, passed away on Friday, September 2, 2022 in Geisinger St. Luke’s Hospital, Orwigsburg, PA.  He was the husband of Carolyn Prentiss. They were married on May 9, 1953 and celebrated 69 years of marriage. Prior to retiring, he was a self-employed mechanic. Born in Newark, NJ, he was the son of the late Richard and Anna Prentiss. Richard was an Army veteran of the Korean War where he was awarded the Purple Heart Medal. He was an avid CB radio enthusiast. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Victoria Kullberg, two sisters, Lillian Prentiss, and Betty Ann Galarza, and a brother, Ronald. Surviving in addition to his wife, are three daughters, Sharon, wife of Doug Huebsch, of Elmwood Park, NJ, Denise, wife of Michael Nicastro, of Little Egg Harbor, NJ, and Paula Prentiss, of New Ringgold, PA; nine grandchildren, William, Thomas, Richard, Carolyn, Casey Lynn, Tracy, David, Frank, and Kristen; 16 great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Service and interment with military honors will be held at 10am on Monday, September 19, at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, with Rev. Robert Johnson officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516.
